A short guide to the three things every new Colder account does in the first week: complete onboarding, find or import prospects, and send your first personalised cold email.

Getting started

  1. Complete onboarding

    Head to /onboarding and fill in your ideal customer profile (industry, location, role). This is what the AI uses to draft every personalised email — the more specific you are here, the better the output. When you finish, you'll land on the dashboard with your ICP saved.

  2. Find or import prospects

    Two ways to build a list. Search live BBB and Google Maps businesses from /find-prospects (already pre-filtered by your onboarding ICP), or upload your own CSV from the dashboard — up to 1,000 rows with columns name and email required.

  3. Compose your first cold email

    Open the dashboard compose modal, pick a prospect (or your whole list), and Colder's AI drafts a personalised email referencing their company and title. Spot-check the first 5–10 drafts before sending — because the AI uses your ICP from step 1, the output quality tracks how well you filled out onboarding.

Where do my prospects come from?
Two sources. Upload your own CSV from the dashboard (up to 1,000 rows; columns name and email required, company and title optional). Or use Lead Discovery on the dashboard — Colder pulls live businesses from BBB and Google Maps, pre-filtered by the industry and location you set during onboarding.
How does the AI write personalised emails?
It uses the industry, location, and ICP brief you set during onboarding. The more specific your ICP sentence, the better the output — "B2B SaaS founders in Austin with 10–50 employees, struggling with churn" beats "any tech startup." Each prospect gets a unique draft referencing their company and title, so spot-check the first 5–10 before sending.
What happens when someone replies?
Replies land in the unified Inbox on your dashboard. The campaign auto-pauses for that prospect — no further follow-ups send. You can reply from inside Colder or from your own mailbox; either way, the conversation is tracked on the prospect's history.
